Two of the most common cancers affecting women are breast and cervical cancers. Detecting both these cancers early is key to keeping women alive and healthy. Global figures show that around half a million women die from cervical cancer and half a million from breast cancer each year. Most of these deaths occur in low and middle-income countries where screening, prevention and treatment are almost non-existent. For early detection of breast cancer, it is vital to be breast aware and to prevent other cancers like cervical cancer, ensure to go for regular health screenings.
Our Breast Care Triple Assessment Unit allows for early and rapid detection of breast cancer. Patient referred to this clinic goes through a series of diagnostic tests including clinical breast examination, breast imaging and/or core biopsy, if lump is found.
